Reflections from YFP Santa Cruz 2007 Participants"What a wonderful event!! Even though I modified the asanas sometimes and didn't do them all, I moved into a beautiful, grounded, heart-open space that has continued into today. I also feel expansively peaceful. There was no sense of ego in this. Each aspect of the event was thought out with great intent and consciousness so that all the teachers could share their gifts equally. Thank you for organizing the event again.
In gratitude,
Patricia Hurley
PS My muscles are rather sore. But it's a happy sore."
"Saturday was a day of spirit and devotion for me. After the yoga for peace event, I played a kirtan with Bhagavan Das at the PCC. I carried the energy from the event into my performance, and the buzz which filled my body as I slept that night was remarkable. YFP was beautiful, and I look forward to more in the future. Seeing the sea of bodies doing postures together, tuning into the vibration of them and the teachers, and channeling that flow through music is a great gift. I am humbled every time I get the chance to do so. Delana did a great job organizing, and all of the teachers and volunteers did a wonderful job working together cohesively to make this event successful. YFP really brings people together and creates the consciousness that this planet needs so badly. Thank you all for your energy and inspiration!
In light,
Ramesh Kannan" (tabla player for the event)
"It was a beautiful day for the yoga for peace event. I stopped by to visit and observe, and decided to register to participate in the sun salutations with everyone. Practicing outside in the sunshine with the earth under my feet, I realized the support that is there for me from the earth and our community for peace.
Namaste,
Jolene Mendelsohn"
"I am still feeling the ever expanding compassion that arose within me (that spanda!) after being a part of this past weekend's Yoga for Peace mala. Not only are my hamstrings reminders, but the heartstrings are, which hinged all of us communal yogis and yoginis together, recognizing that peace starts within. Thank you to all the fabulous worker bees that buzzed about, chanting the vibes that made this creation a moment for me to cherish and spring forth from.
Namaste!
Rebecca Briggs"
"I was pleasantly surprised to see my face in the Sunday paper for yoga for peace. This, including the whole day on Saturday, put tears in my eyes and love in my heart. Particularly because when I opened my eyes after sending a blessing out to the universe, I saw the gentlemen taking pictures, and I had a vision for a second of my face in the newspaper. So, I want to share with you my experience of visualization and manifestation, and how very powerful it is. This event is an incredible gift to the people of the world because we were all there visualizing peace and sending blessings for peace all day. Thank You thank you thank you!
Love and blessings,
Laura Rose Price"
"Yoga for peace was an awesome time! We were worried we wouldn't be able to do all the sun salutations, but in the end our training and continuous practice prevailed. It was amazing: all the people, and the music! The way it was organized made it very comfortable for all. With the skill of the teachers leading the show, there was no confusion for us participants to follow. The asanas chosen were not too difficult for those of us who had a hope of completing all 108. We thank you very much for presenting this event. We had a
wonderful time and eagerly await the next Yoga for Peace.
Thank you,
Scott and Valerie St. Denis"
